I had seen Tomato Halos around for years, I had never really given them thought and the wonder of why people use them and the benefits they can provide to the busy gardener. Well, last year something changed. I was given a small area in the communal Polytunnel to call my own… My imagination took hold, I could grow hundreds of cucumbers and harvest kilo after kilo of tomatoes… In my one metre square (give or take) patch. Back down to earth I went with a bump. But you have to love a good day dream. Anyway, it got me thinking and searching the internet for a basic irrigation system for the plants I was going to grow. Being as my indoor growing space was at the allotment I didn’t want to be tied to visiting twice a day in the height of summer, which is something that can easily happen!
